The Abbey trailing shoe is manufactured to the highest standards using precision engineering. This machine like all other Abbey manufactured products went through rigorous pre-market testing, which has yielded a class leading product. This machine is fully galvanised to aid against corrosion and is available in two sizes 6mtr and 7.5 mtr and can be either tractor mounted or tanker mounted (6mtr only).
The working of the machine is simple, the spring loaded paired legs are pressed to the ground and as it is trailed it parts the canopy of foliage and also opens a slit in the soil surface. Slurry is placed in this void through a rubber boot which is fed from a Vogelsang macerator via 50mm clear wire reinforced hosing.
This ensures an even application of nutrients available to the crop. Using a trailing shoe is hugely beneficial not only for the significant savings that can be made by utilising organic fertiliser through a longer spreading window. Using a trailing shoe is hugely beneficial to the environment as it also helps to lower our overall co2 emissions, this is achieved by the crops canopy as it closes over the slurry thus creating a ceiling which eliminates smell.
